My name is Gabby Turner and I live in Virginia. I'm 14 years old and will be turning 15 August 6th, 2013. People that know me, know that I love to do many things, I love to draw, write, and plan ahead. Ever since I was a kid I loved planning ahead for my self. So as you read this you will understand what I need of every single person out there who has an extra penny in their pocket.
When I was 13 years old I began to have a fascination for another country, Japan. It started as I began reading manga and anime books. I then started watching anime shows, and as my interest slowly developed I began to learn phrases in Japanese, watch Japanese comedy shows, even to the point where I began looking up traditional house hold 'guest' rules. I absolutely fell in love with pictures of Japan, I loved everything from the large markets to each coy fish being fed on YouTube videos. This is why I want to go abroad.
I expect to go to Japan and be able to fully learn and experience their culture and language first hand. Sadly, I do not have money growing on trees in my back yard and I can't fully pay for my trip. I'm also saving to pay for my college tuition at the moment, so I'm asking of anyone out there who has just one dollar to spare to please help me towards my goal on travelling to Japan. In return I will give you a full blog on my trip and answer any questions you might have, I will take pictures and document everything from when I get there to when I return back home. I have already been doing odd jobs to earn money and have been saving on the side for this trip, as soon as I turn 15 I'm applying for a part-time job.
